Hi! Welcome to my website.
My name is Pieter van Wijnen. I'm a 26 year old, Amsterdam based 'Fashion & Branding' student at AMFI - Amsterdam Fashion Institute. On top of that, I have followed a minor on Impact Storytelling and Design Thinking. I will also be following the minor Visual Culture this next semester.
I've been in love with fashion ever since I was a kid. To me, fashion is the ultimate form of self-expression and it's a great tool to connect to and inspire others. I’m driven by the power of stories, especially the ones we tell without words. Fashion fascinates me because it captures emotion, identity, and imagination in a single moment. Through my work, I aim to create pieces and concepts that move people, that make them pause, feel, and connect. For me, fashion is not just about clothing. It's about translating human experiences into something visual, tangible, and unforgettable. I want my work to speak to people’s inner worlds.
With my work, I want to move people and make them more conscious of the current state of the fashion industry and society as a whole by breaking down stereotypes, to make people fall in love with fashion again. Doing all of that with a sustainable and responsible approach.
I’m broadly versatile, but my strength lies in conceptual thinking and creatively guiding projects from idea to execution. Whether shaping a narrative, developing a brand direction, or crafting a marketing strategy. My interests lay in developing and shaping brand identities and creating campaigns and visual expressions for brands. I believe that these expressions become more powerful when using storytelling as a way to connect to people on an emotional level.
Take a look around. I've selected some various projects like brand strategies/concepts, retail environments, shoots, visual stories and campaigns.
